Budget passed: 120 votes for the budget! out of govt.119 only 112 present, few from SLFP voted and showed the majority!

120 votes were received in the voting for the interim budget presented by President Ranil Wickramasinghe.

Out of the 119 existing Pohottu councilors, only 112 councilors were present.

A group of members of the Sri Lankan freedom Party voted in favor of it.

The number of votes against was 5 and 43 abstained from voting.

Also, it is reported that 4 MPs of the ruling party have taken steps to inform in advance that they will not be able to come to the voting today.

However, it was also special to note that Mr. Ranil Wickramasinghe got 134 votes from the Pohottu party in the election of the President.
