The Bribery Commission has also accused the defendants of causing a loss of over 26 lakh rupees to the government by entering false data into the vehicle registration computer system and registering them under other vehicle numbers about the vehicles brought to Sri Lanka without paying customs duty.
It has been stated in the case assigned to the Bribery Commission that the Commissioner General of Lands committed this offence while working as a Deputy Commissioner of the Motor Vehicle Registration Department.
