Police urge people not to give money to beggars from vehicles parked near traffic lights in Colombo city limits. VIDEO I Sri Lanka Latest News

Even now, the police officers have been instructed to remove the beggars who are obstructing the traffic.

The police point out that the beggars are arrested and brought before the court, but they are released on bail because they cannot be detained for a long time, but they continue to beg again after that.

Pointing out that there has been an increase in beggars near the traffic lights, which is causing inconvenience to all the people including the drivers, the police have started programs to prevent the beggars from driving vehicles parked near the traffic lights.

Attention has also been paid to issue a ticket for those who give money to beggars near traffic lights despite the police notification.
