Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna’s national organizer former minister Basil Rajapaksa and his wife Pushpa Rajapaksa have left Katunayake airport early this morning.
He has left for Dubai by an Emirates flight.
They are going to leave for Los Angeles in America from there.
The reason for Mr. Basil Rajapaksa’s sudden visit to America is not clear, but after the May rally held recently in Pohottuwa, serious conflicts arose within the party when the party representatives named him as the leader of the party and the future presidential candidate.
It is also known that there have been some disagreements between Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa, Mr. Namal Rajapaksa and Mr. Basil Rajapaksa.
Accordingly, it is reported that Mr. Basil Rajapakse left for America for a period of two weeks, but he will not return to Sri Lanka until the existing problems are resolved.
