Australia and Sri Lanka have looked into investment opportunities in Sri Lanka’s renewable energy sector, according to the President’s Media Division (PMD).
President Ranil Wickremesinghe and Australian High Commissioner, HE Paul Stephens, reportedly had a preliminary round of negotiations.
A group of Australian investors took part in the discussion, which took place this morning (14), at the Presidential Secretariat.
The PMD added that as a remedy for the current electricity crisis and to guarantee a steady supply of electricity, the President has prioritized encouraging new investments in the renewable energy sector.
