Audit Reports on e-Visa and e-Passport Transactions to Be Submitted to Parliament by January, Says Auditor General

Auditor General W.P.C. Wickramaratne announced that the audit reports concerning the controversial e-Visa and e-Passport transactions are expected to be submitted to Parliament by January.

According to the National Audit Office, the investigations into these transactions are nearing completion, uncovering numerous irregularities. The office further stated that efforts are underway to obtain detailed reports from institutions involved in these dealings.

The e-Visa and e-Passport transactions have been the focus of significant controversy in the past, prompting heightened scrutiny.

In the meantime, Auditor General Wickramaratne revealed that an audit of government vehicles is also in progress. He noted that this investigation will require additional time, as it involves gathering information from all relevant institutions.
