Professor Ashu Marasinghe has directed a letter of demand claiming 1.5 billion rupees in compensation from Hirunika Premachandra and Adarsha Karandana of Samagi Vanita Balavega, claiming that they insulted him by holding a press conference and abusing a dog.

The professor asserts in the relevant letter of demand, which was sent through his lawyer, that all of the allegations levelled against him in the relevant press conference are false.

It has also been stated that the December 23rd press conference was intended to mislead the public and thus create public opinion against Professor Ashu Marasinghe.

As a result, he has filed a complaint in which he demands 500 million rupees from Mrs Premachandra and 1 billion rupees from Adarsha Karanda.
