Another big loss for the election postponement conspiracy! Since elections are constitutional, the  election funds will be available

Treasury officials have confirmed to the Election Commission that the money required for holding the election can be provided without any hindrance.

In an inquiry made by Newsfirst, the Election Commissioner General Mr. Saman Sri Ratnayake said that in view of the current economic situation in the country, the General Treasury officials were summoned to the Election Commission yesterday to inquire about various opinions that the money required for holding elections cannot be provided properly.

The officials have informed that since the election is a constitutional affair, the money required for it can be provided without any hindrance.

Members including the Chairman of the Election Commission, the Election Commissioner General and the Chief Financial Officer of the Election Commission have also participated in this discussion.
