The police said that she had hanged herself at her home in Konaville, Kilinochchi.
When the girl was hanging herself, her brother saw her and immediately admitted her to the Kilinochchi hospital.
However, it is reported that she was dead by the time she was admitted to the hospital.
The cause of death has not yet been revealed, and the Kilinochchi Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
