Another 15-year-old school student commits suicide in Hatton I Sri Lanka Latest News

A 15-year-old school student who was residing in the Marlbro section of Ledanti Estate under the Hatton police jurisdiction committed suicide by hanging himself in his house. (Sri Lanka Latest News)

A school student named R. Kobi Harshan, who was studying in the 10th year of Hatton Panmur Tamil Maha Vidyalaya, which is governed by the Hatton Zonal Education Office, committed suicide.

Initial investigations have revealed that the school student hanged himself in a room near the kitchen of the house when he returned home at around 9:00 p.m. yesterday (30) after attending a ceremony held at the estate’s temple with the deceased student’s mother, brother and sister.

The dead student’s body has been sent to the expert forensic doctor of Dik Oya Primary Hospital for a post-mortem examination, and the reason for the suicide has not yet been revealed, said the Hatton Police, who are investigating the incident.
