It is said that the politicians have been invited to the public ceremony of the community hall built by the Colombo Municipal Council on behalf of the Department of Sports and Recreation at 12 Pir Saibu Street, Colombo.

This event was held last Friday 24th.

According to a complaint made by a group of candidates for the local government election to the Election Commission, the Commission should conduct this event without the participation of candidates and politicians and only involving government officials, the Additional Election Commissioner (Legal Investigations and Planning) Mr Municipal Commissioner Mrs Bhadrani Jayawardena was informed in writing. However, despite the request, the municipal commissioner has conducted the event with a group of local government election candidates, including Mr. Sagala Ratnayake, the UNP West Colombo organizer and the former mayor of Colombo, Ms Rosy Senanayake, despite the request, according to the Election Commission sources.

In this regard, in a query made to the Commissioner General of our Election Commission Mr. Saman Sri Ratnayake, he said that the incident will be discussed in the commission meeting to be held on the 30th and an appropriate decision will be taken.
