The World Stroke Day is commemorated every year on 29 October to increase awareness and drive actions on prevention of stroke around the world. Raising awareness of stroke, its causes, effects, treatment and recovery are vital factors. The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka and Sri Lanka China Business Cooperation Council together with the National Stroke Association of Sri Lanka will be organizing a knowledge sharing awareness session titled; ‘Symptoms and Prevention of Stroke’ on Tuesday, 29th October 2024, at 5.00 PM- 6.00 PM at the National Chamber Auditorium, 450, D. R. Wijewardene Mawatha, Colombo 10.
Session will be enriched with the guest lecture by Prof. Udaya Ranawaka, Professor in Neurology, who will enlighten the audience about identifying symptoms, types of stroke, treatment and care for life after stroke, prevention of stroke and emergency medical care, etc.
In addition to the above session, A free eye testing camp for all participants and BMI (Body Mass Index) reading facilities will be available free of charge from 2.00 pm onwards at the venue. The BMI reading card will be given to the participants with risk factors for NCDs. Eye testing camp will be sponsored by ‘The Optician’. BMI reading facility will be sponsored by Mega Life Science.
Key learning outcomes are to find out more about the different types of strokes and how they can be treated, Symptom Awareness, Prevention & care and life after stroke.
This free of charge session will be beneficial to all health concerned individuals/professionals, suffering from heart ailments & Non communicable disease (NCDs).
