Yesterday, a 38-year-old Ari Force sergeant committed suicide by shooting himself in Bambelapitya. He lives in Abeyapura, Trincomalee.
The sergeant in question was shot while on duty with several other soldiers near a deserted house in Fonseka Place, Bambalapitiya, it has been revealed.
The body has been deposited in the mortuary of the Colombo National Hospital, and the Bambalapitiya Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
