In a tweet, Mrs. Julie Chang, the American ambassador to Sri Lanka, said that she hopes to work with the newly elected president, Ranil Wickremesinghe.
“In these challenging times, it is imperative for all parties to redouble their efforts to resolve the economic crisis and work together to uphold democracy, accountability, and to build a stable and secure future for all Sri Lankans.” She added in her Twitter message.
