A meeting between the US Ambassador Julie J. Chung and the opposition leader Sajith Premadasa took place today (2) at the opposition leader’s office. Mr. Matthew Hinson, political officer of the United States Embassy, also joined this event. Sri Lanka Latest News
There, the two sides exchanged views focusing on many social, economic and political matters in the current Sri Lanka. Mr. Sajith Premadasa, the leader of the opposition, explained how the people have been affected by the current government’s economic policy while informing the group including the US ambassador.
In addition, the present government was informed about the postponement of the elections planned to be held on the scheduled date in violation of the democratic rights of the people and the various bills that they are trying to bring by suppressing the people.
Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa and Member of Parliament Niroshan Perera also joined this event.
