The police say that the shooting that took place in the Galvehera area on the Ahungalla, Uragaha road last night on the 22nd is suspected to be the result of a conflict between two underworld groups.
According to that, the police say that this shooting may have been carried out by Kosgoda Sujee’s side as revenge for an earlier shooting.
On the night of April 14, a shooting took place in Ahungalla, Muddaramulla area, and a young man lost his life there.
It was revealed that the person who lost his life was a young man who wanted to marry the daughter of the woman known as Kudu Madhusha, a friend of Kosgoda Suji, an organized crime gang leader.
A person nicknamed Ahungalle Baba, who was close to Rathgama Vidura and Loku Patti, was accused of killing the young man.
Meanwhile, investigations have revealed that the woman who was injured in the shooting on the 22nd is Ahungalle Baba’s sister.
Accordingly, the police suspect that the shooting may have been carried out by Kosgoda Sujee’s side as revenge for the shooting that took place on April 14.
A couple and a 04-month-old baby were injured in the shooting that took place on the night of the 22nd at Galvehera area on the Ahungalla, Uragaha road.
While they were going home on a motorcycle from their business place, a person who was hiding in the Galvehera area on the Ahungalla, Uragaha road fired this shot and fled.
The couple and the 04-month-old baby were injured in the shooting and were admitted to the Balapitiya Base Hospital.
Then the 04-month-old baby and the baby’s father were admitted to the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital for further treatment.
The police said that the shooting was done with a T-56 firearm.
