All Divisional Secretaries across Sri Lanka have been summoned to Colombo today (22) to be briefed on the government’s development plans for 2026 and the implementation strategy of the ‘Prajashakthi’ rural development initiative, Sri Lanka Latest News reports.
The meeting will be held at the main hall of Temple Trees under the patronage of the Secretary to the President, Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake. During the session, Divisional Secretaries will receive comprehensive instructions on executing the Prajashakthi program at grassroots level. The initiative is recognized as one of the government’s flagship efforts aimed at eradicating rural poverty through community-driven development.
In addition, the discussions will cover several key areas, including the necessity of public service reforms, the role of Divisional Secretaries in national development, and the integration of digital systems and digital spaces within the Prajashakthi program. The responsibilities of Divisional Secretaries in the Digital Economy Program will also be outlined.
The meeting will further emphasize the importance of their active involvement in the ‘Ratam Ekata’ national mission, which focuses on eliminating bribery, corruption, and the spread of toxic drugs across the country.
