Aleema Khanum, sister of former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, has claimed that her brother continues to represent “90% of the people of Pakistan,” alleging that efforts to sideline him are effectively suppressing the will of the public.
Speaking to Sky News, Khanum argued that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader still commands overwhelming support despite his imprisonment and political restrictions. She asserted that isolating Imran Khan is tantamount to silencing the majority of Pakistanis who, according to her, stand behind his political vision.
Her comments come amid ongoing political tensions in Pakistan, with PTI repeatedly alleging targeted crackdowns and unfair treatment of its supporters. The government, however, maintains that all actions against PTI figures are in line with legal procedures.
Khanum’s remarks have further amplified the debate over political freedoms, public representation, and the future of Pakistan’s democratic landscape.
