Former Minister Ajith P. Perera stated that no Speaker in the history of Parliament has ever rejected a no-confidence motion.
Speaking at a media briefing held at Parliament, he emphasized that in the past, no-confidence motions have been presented against Speakers, Ministers, and even Opposition Leaders, and none of them were ever rejected.
