Environment Minister Naseer Ahmed’s position as a Member of Parliament will abolished soon. Sri Lanka Latest News

That was when the Supreme Court ruled that his decision to expel him from the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress was legal.

The Serjeant at Arms of Parliament, Narendra Fernando, said that after such a judgment, the position of a Member of Parliament is usually abolished.

However, he said that the relevant decision is currently being studied, and after studying it, a final decision will be taken regarding the minister’s position as a member of Parliament.

The Sri Lanka Muslim Congress took steps to revoke former Nazeer Mohamed’s party membership after he joined former President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa after accepting a cabinet minister post in support of him.
