After his third term of service extension: CD is to be retained as IGP for a further unknown period?  I Sri Lanka Latest News

After the completion of the third extension of service, Mr. Ranil Wickramasinghe once again has decided to appoint CD for the post of Inspector General of Police. It is reported that it has been decided to propose the name of Mr. Wickramaratne. Sri Lanka Latest News

Accordingly, it is said that the President has planned to recommend Mr. Wickramaratne’s name to the Legislative Assembly again.

The third time Mr. Wickramaratne’s name was recommended to the Legislative Assembly by the President, the Legislative Assembly took steps to reject it, but despite that, the President took steps to appoint Mr. Wickramaratne as the Inspector General of Police once again.

Accordingly, it has been learned that after the expiry of these 2 weeks, the President has decided to recommend Mr. Wickramaratne’s name for the post of Inspector General of Police once again and if he is rejected by the Constituent Assembly, he will re-appoint Mr. Wickramaratne as the Inspector General of Police.
