Mr. Alfred Perera, who was a veteran actor and radio announcer, passed away.
He was 93 years old when he died.
Mr. Alfred Perera, who worked as a news anchor for the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation for a long time, has also worked as a translator in the Parliament of Sri Lanka for a long time.
He was also in charge of the Sinhala division of Veritas Radio in Manila, Philippines for a while.
Mr. Alfred Perera was the founder and the founding announcer of the very popular Vinoda Samaya program on radio and acted in a number of films and television dramas.
His body was laid to rest at the Makola Supreme Funeral Hall, and the last rites will take place at the Dalugama Church Cemetery (22) at 3.30 p.m.
