An earthquake has occurred in the sea area 34 km from Beruwala area.
The Bureau of Geology and Mines said there was no danger from the earthquake, which registered a magnitude of 3.7 on the Richter scale.
However, they mentioned that the earthquake was felt by the people of Beruwala and its surrounding areas.
In this regard, the Deputy Director of the Disaster Management Center Mr. Pradeep Kodippili said that there is no risk of tsunami due to earthquakes.
