Today (April 08, 2024), there will be a total solar eclipse. It has become so popular around the world that some schools in the United States have even been ordered to close, especially on the day of the eclipse. (Sri Lanka Latest News)
This total solar eclipse will not be visible to Sri Lanka but will be visible to countries in Western Europe, North America, North South America, the Pacific Ocean, the Atlantic Ocean and the Arctic.
The solar eclipse will begin at 9:12 PM on April 8, 2024 and end at 2:22 AM on April 9, Sri Lanka Standard Time.
Although there are 2 lunar eclipses and 2 solar eclipses this year, Sri Lankans will not get a chance to see any of them, and the next eclipse that we will see is a total lunar eclipse that will occur on September 7, 2025.
