A medical team from Angoda National Institute of Psychiatry is scheduled to visit Welikada Prison Hospital on 31 to obtain the psychiatric reports of Ratnapura’s Wimalabuddhi or ‘Vishwa Buddhi Muni’ who was arrested on suspicion of posting ‘TikTok’ videos insulting Buddhism and was remanded, and Mahinda Kodithuvakku who was remanded as ‘Avalokiteswara’. Yesterday (25) they took the suspects to the psychiatrists of the Angoda National Institute of Psychiatry to get their psychiatric reports, but the relevant reports were not released.

Mahinda Kodithuvakku, who appeared under the name ‘Avalokiteshwara’, was sent to Welikada prison hospital on the last 18th, and Wimala Buddhi or Vishwa Buddhi Muni of Ratnapura was referred to the Welikada prison hospital on the last 24th. Based on an order given by the court, the prison department has referred them to the psychiatrists of Angoda National Institute of Psychiatry.
