The police said that a person was injured in the shooting and was admitted to the Colombo National Hospital.
A 51-year-old resident of Mahawatta Pathumanga, Colombo 14 was injured.
The victim works as a manager of a restaurant in Modara Street area, and when he was near the gate of the restaurant, the shooting was done by unknown persons who came in a car.
The police said that the suspects had fled and it is suspected that a pistol was used for the shooting.
The reason for the shooting has not yet been revealed.
Investigations are underway to arrest the suspects.
