It is reported that the international community has decided to express a massive protest to the government against the conspiratorial actions taken by the various parties responsible for postponing the currently scheduled local government elections.
Accordingly, it has been learned that many powerful countries have already informed the government of their opposition to it.
The Sunday Times has reported that India has already expressed its objection in this regard and has informed the government to conduct the election properly.
In addition, it has been learned that Mrs. Victoria Noland, the US State Department’s Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, is going to make an official visit to Sri Lanka next week, where she is also going to protest the efforts to postpone the elections.
Also, the countries of the European Commission and the International Monetary Fund had previously emphasized that in order to support Sri Lanka, there must be a government with a mandate.
