The Secretary General of the Muslim Congress has commented on the decision of the Supreme Court that the removal of Nasir Ahmed from the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress is valid and legal. Sri Lanka Latest News

Speaking after the judgment, the Secretary General of the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress, President’s Attorney Mr Nizam Kariyapar said that this is a good warning for politicians who will switch parties for ministerships.

“The Supreme Court’s decision that my letter expelling him from the party, who had obtained ministerial positions, was fair and valid is historic. This is a big warning for those who will switch parties for ministerships after this.

President’s Counsel Mr Sumandhiran said that the three judges unanimously decided that his removal from the party was regular and valid.

“This is a historic decision. For 20 to 25 years, decisions in such cases were given to the other side…”
