A good speech, but the action must be seen! We’ll support good moves through committees! Sajith responds to Ranil! (VIDEO)

I believe the president’s speech today will become ground reality. We are prepared to work for the country’s progress and development by empowering an all-party government through the committes as a responsible opposition. We would not be greedy for ministerial positions, however. Today, Mr. Sajth Pemadasa spoke to the media (3)

The opposition leader stated that the President’s entire speech was positive and that the facts of the speech should be implemented in the same manner.

The provisions regarding the manner in which the All-Party Integration Program should be implemented are also mentioned as the most positive aspect of this story, and in it, on the one hand, it can be seen that the work will be done through a council consisting of party leaders, and on the other hand, the creation of a people’s council for community participation state governance and the implementation of monitoring committees. The opposition leader expressed gratitude for the activities.

Furthermore, the opposition leader stated that he believes the parliamentary oversight committees should operate under a strong committee system that extends beyond the current powers.

Because the three main components of an upcoming all-party programme are mentioned here, he is relieved that those facts are not included in the President’s speech. If someone tries to impose an opportunistic all-party rule, it is not an all-party rule and instead imposes a burden on the people. That was also stated by the opposition leader.

He stated that it would be best if this journey was continued by strengthening the National Assembly, the party leaders’ assembly, and the sectoral monitoring committees.

The opposition leader went on to say that he has no objections to the policies and that they should be implemented, but that he would only do so through the parliamentary sectoral councils.
