A few moments before Ranil presents the budget, four government members join the opposition alliance with SJB.(EXCLUSIVE)

Today, President and Finance Minister Mr. Ranil Wickramasinghe will present the 2023 budget to Parliament and 4 members of the ruling party representing Pohottuwa have expressed their agreement to join the Samagi Janabalawegaya.

These 4 MPs are Anura Priyadarshana Yapa, Chandima Weerakkodi, Sudarshanee Fernandopulle Jayaratne Herath.

In this regard, for the past few days, this group of MPs had taken steps to hold discussions with the Samagi Jana Balawegaya.

Accordingly, in the last discussion held a few moments ago, this group has expressed their agreement to join with the SJB-led Samagi Jana Sanandhana and become part of it.

Opposition leader Mr. Sajith Premadasa, who has called all the parties belonging to the Samagi Jana Sandha today, has taken steps to inform them of this as well.

It has also been learned that the opposition leader, who has also called the management committee of Samagi Jana Balavega today at 12.30 pm, has planned to inform them about this as well.
