A crucial meeting between the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna and the United National Party will be held today (10).
A senior spokesman of the Sri Lanka Podu Jana Peramuna stated that this discussion will be held this afternoon at the Presidential Secretariat.
It is stated that a common agreement is to be reached on issues such as creating a new alliance and competing under a common symbol for the purpose of the upcoming local government elections.
General Secretary of the United National Party Mr. Palitha Range Bandara mentioned that Deputy Leader Ruwan Wijayawardena will participate with him in today’s discussion.
It is reported that party general secretary attorney at law Sagara Kariyawasam, Rohitha Abeygunawardena, Mahindananda Aluthgamage and Sanjiva Edirimanna are scheduled to participate in today’s discussion on behalf of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna.
A discussion was also held last Sunday between the United National Party and the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna.
