A dead monk’s body in the Seeduwa area. The police have found the body of a Thero who died mysteriously in a temple in the Seeduwa area.
Nadagamuwe Mahanama Thero, the vihara chief of Seeduwa Vathewa Raddaluwa Sri Nandarama Viharaya, has passed away.
The police found the body of the 50-year-old vihara dean with his face and mouth tied and lying on a bed in the viharaya.
The police suspect that this was a murder by strangulation.
Local residents said that another preist used to live in the said temple, and that Thera has now disappeared.
Seeduwa police have started further investigations in this regard.
