Colombo Chief Magistrate Mr. Prasanna De Alwis today (23) ordered the Criminal Investigation Department to record and submit statements from the Immigration and Emigration Controller and the Persons Registration Commissioner regarding several matters related to the citizenship of State Minister Diana Gamage.
It was reported that the magistrate made this order after considering the facts presented by the Criminal Investigation Department and the lawyers of the aggrieved party when the relevant complaint was called today.
After receiving those statements, can the request submitted by the aggrieved party’s lawyers to issue an order for the arrest of Diana Gamage under Section 32 of the Code of Criminal Procedure be considered? No? The Chief Magistrate said that he will decide to go.
Then the court ordered that the complaint be called on the 6th of April.
