A court barred ten trade union leaders from entering certain areas of Colombo today I Sri Lanka Latest News

The Colombo Fort Magistrate Court has issued an order preventing the members of several trade unions from entering several roads in Colombo today (25).Sri Lanka Latest News

Accordingly, from 9 am to 6 pm today, members of the trade unions are prohibited from entering the Olket Mawatha from the Presidential Secretariat, the Presidential Palace, the Ministry of Finance, the Central Bank, Police Headquarters, Fort Railway Station to CTO Junction.

Also Lotus Road from CTO Junction to Ceramic Junction NSA Roundabout, York Street, Bank Mawatha, Chatham Street, Mudalige Mawatha, Baron Jayathilaka Mawatha, Opposite Police Headquarters, Scouts Mawatha, Vaitya Road, President Mawatha, Galle Road from Galle Mudoora Roundabout to NSA Roundabout, Galle Road and President’s Secretariat to avoid damage to public and private property. Mr. Strarat Thilina Gamage has ordered.

The names of the members who have been issued such orders are given below.

*Samira Alwil – Banking and Finance Forum activist

  • Niroshan Gorakana – Secretary of the All Ceylon Port Public Employees’ Union
    *Vijayathilaka Jayasiri – President of the Inter-University Service Union
    *Samira Pathirana – Vice President of Ceylon Electricity Workers Union
    *Udayanga Hettiarachchi – Ceylon Petroleum Public Employees’ Union Media Spokesperson
    *D.P. Jayawardena – Vice President of Water Supply and Water Transport Workers Union
  • Gamini Ratnayake – Convener of the National Center of Trade Zone Employees
    *Anura Nayananda – Biyagama Zonal Organizer of Inter Company Employees Union
    *Manjula Sirisoma – President of the State Engineering Services Association
  • Asanka Sanjeeva – Deputy Secretary of All Ceylon Transport Workers Union
