Sinnaiya Alageswaran Romina, a young woman, has died in this incident which took place in the early hours of today (09).
She identified a law student residing in Wellawatta area through Facebook social media and later started a love relationship between the two.
On the invitation of this young man, she rented the house in question at Mt. Alwis Mawatha, which was reserved online, and she came to Sri Lanka in April and has been residing there.
It has been revealed that she was scheduled to go back to England tomorrow (10). Galkissa Police say that there was an argument between the two early this morning.
It is not yet clear whether this was a murder or a suicide. The law student who maintained a relationship with the deceased girl has been taken into police custody on suspicion of the incident.
Mt Lavinia Acting Magistrate Ratna Gamage conducted the magisterial investigations. Mt.Lavinia Police are conducting further investigations.
