Millions of Rs worth of water meters have gone missing from the possession of the National Water Supply and Drainage Board. Sri Lanka Latest News
The Commercial Crime Investigation Division of the Criminal Investigation Department reported the matter to the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court and informed that the relevant investigation is being conducted according to a complaint made by Sisira Kumara Jayaweera of the National Water Supply and Drainage Board.
Officials of the Criminal Investigation Department informed the court that they had received a complaint regarding the misplacement of water meters worth Rupees Fifty One Thirty Six Lakhs Forty Four Thousand Five Hundred (513,644,500) belonging to the National Water Supply and Drainage Board.
The court directed the Commercial Crime Investigation Division of the Criminal Investigation Department to report the progress of the investigation into the incident.
