Dr. Vijith Gunasekara, Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Regulatory Authority, said that a cancer vaccine was withdrawn from use due to complications after giving it to patients. Sri Lanka Latest News
Mr. Gunasekara also said that the same medicine had been imported by the company which had previously blacklisted a questionable medicine.
The CEO also said that 2250 cancer vaccines have been brought to Sri Lanka.
He said that the company which imported the drugs in question had prepared a fake document with the official seal of the National Drug Regulatory Authority and that the Criminal Investigation Department is conducting an investigation in this regard.
