15,673 children suffering from severe malnutrition across the country! Most children are from Colombo! Sri Lanka Latest News

A survey conducted by the Family Health Bureau of the Ministry of Health has revealed that 15763 children suffering from severe acute malnutrition have been identified across the country this year. (Sri Lanka Latest News)

A survey conducted by the Family Health Bureau of the Ministry of Health has revealed that 15763 children suffering from severe acute malnutrition have been identified across the country this year. (Sri Lanka Latest News)

According to this survey, the largest number of malnourished children have been identified within the Colombo Municipal Council.

There is also an increase in underweight children compared to last year which is almost 2%.

The Family Health Bureau indicates that this figure was 15.3% last year. The Family Health Bureau indicates that this figure is 17% this year.

Also, the increase in underweight children and mothers suffering from anemia increased from 14.5% last year to 15% this year.
