11 DIGs retire with their service appreciated

Eleven senior Police officials retired yesterday, having reached the prescribed age of retirement.

The officials included Senior DIG Nandana Munasinghe, Uva Province Senior DIG W.F.U. Fernando, Presidential Security DIG Augustus Perera, Vanni district DIG Vandana Alahakoon, Northern province DIG E.M.U. Wijitha Gunaratne, Community Police and Environment Protection DIG Jagath Palihakkara, Kegalle district DIG Champika Siriwardena, Badulla district DIG Kithsiri Jayalal Aponsu, Kalutara district DIG S.D.S.P. Sandanayake, Nuwara Eliya district DIG H.S.N. Peiris and Western province Crime Division DIG Prishantha Jayakody.

A service appreciation ceremony was held on Friday for the retiring officers at the Police headquarters. Police Inspector General Chandana Wickramaratne attended.

Senior DIG Nandana Munasinghe was rewarded with a parade at the Police headquarters, while other retiring Police officers received parades from their respective Police divisions.
