The Police Headquarters reports that 10 individuals, including victims of a double murder, have been killed in shooting incidents carried out by organized criminal groups across nine police divisions during the first 53 days of this year in Sri Lanka.
According to the report, the first shooting of the year was recorded on January 1 within the Nawagamuwa Police Division. Subsequent incidents have been reported from the Maradana, Dehiwala, Kollupitiya, Kalutara South, Thalangama, and Kalutara North Police Divisions. The most recent shooting was reported on the 21st from the Gandara Police Division.
