The special seminar Annual Budget Highlights 2025, organized by AAT Sri Lanka, was held on 19th February at the CA Sri Lanka auditorium. The event was graced by the Hon. Dr. Harshana Suriyapperuma, Deputy Finance Minister, as the Chief Guest, and Ms. Thanuja Perera from the Department of Fiscal Policy as the resource person. The panelists included Mr. Sulaiman Nishtar (Partner – Tax Services, Ernst & Young), Mr. Nuwan Withanage (CFO, Softlogic Life Insurance PLC), and Mr. Prasad Dasanayaka (Managing Director, Dasanayaka Associates), with Mr. Ganaka Amarasinghe (Senior Director, Raigam Group of Companies) acting as the moderator.

In his speech, the Deputy Minister emphasized that the primary focus of the new budget is to elevate Sri Lanka’s economy to the next level, ensuring benefits for all sectors. He highlighted that Sri Lanka, blessed with geographical advantages, skilled human resources, and cultural diversity, has immense potential to thrive.

The President of AAT Sri Lanka- Mr. Indraka Liyanage also addressed the audience and he expressed that AAT, as a leading professional accounting body, has always been committed to empowering professionals with knowledge, skills, and insights that contribute to sound financial management and economic development in Sri Lanka.
