“Thailand – Sri Lanka : Bilateral Trade & Investment session” at the

National Chamber

The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka is organizing bilateral trade discussion between Sri Lanka & Thailand on Thursday, 27 October 2022 from 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon at the National Chamber Auditorium, No. 450, D.R. Wijewardena Mawatha, Colombo 10. Ambassador of Thailand to Sri Lanka,

His Excellency Poj Harnpol will be the Special Guest Speaker and the session will be assisted by Miss. Kanyawan Suebsing – Acting Director Thai Trade Center – Commercial Section of Royal Thai Consulate General in Chennai.


The participants will get an opportunity to have a close dialogue with the Ambassador of Thailand. The overall purpose of this meeting is to discuss on the current trade environment, investment opportunities/ services, policies and other important information with the view to promote and strengthen bilateral trade and investment between Sri Lanka and Thailand.


Sri Lanka’s Major Export Items to Thailand
Precious stones (other than diamonds) and semi-precious stones, knitted or crocheted fabrics, wheat or meslin flour, printed books, newspapers, pictures and other products of the printing industry, crustaceans electrical capacitors, fixed, variable or adjustable (pre-set), apparel, activated carbon, medical or surgical instruments, diamonds, miscellaneous articles of base metal etc. Source: Sri Lanka Customs


Sri Lanka’s Major Import Items from Thailand


Plastics and articles thereof, smoked sheet rubber, nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances, fish, dried, salted or in brine, knitted or crocheted fabrics ,natural rubber, white crystalline cane sugar, Portland cement, iron and steel, man-made filament, self-propelled bulldozers, angledozers, graders, levelers, scrapers, mechanical shovels, excavators, man-made staple fibers, petroleum oils and oils
obtained from bituminous minerals, other than crude , residues and waste from the food industries, prepared animal fodder, preparations of cereals, flour, starch or milk etc… Source: Sri Lanka Customs
