Premier homegrown finance company Siyapatha Finance PLC recently marked its 20th anniversary, auspiciously commencing the celebration with religious observances on 16th May at the Head Office.

A traditional procession of the Karanduwa, accompanied by Venerable Theros as well as members of the Management, staff and well-wishers, started from Tickle Road and proceeded towards the Head Office “Siyapatha Tower”. This was followed by Pirith chanting hosted at the decorated Pirith Mandapaya. The Pirith chanting concluded graciously on 17th May with an almsgiving offered to 20 Venerable Theros symbolizing the 20-year milestone.

On 19th May, the unveiling of the Corporate Flag took place in the presence of the Chairman and the Board of Directors, and both the National Flag and the Corporate Flag were ceremoniously hoisted.

Siyapatha Finance  PLC Chairman Mr. Sumith Cumaranatunga remarked: “As we celebrate 20 years in the industry, we are reminded of our greater involvement as a company in positively transforming the lives of Sri Lankans. One aspect that remains unchanged even after two decades is our perseverance in spite of obstacles and barriers. As we gather here today in unity, I take this opportunity to thank all our stakeholders for trusting in us and being a part of this ongoing success story.”

Speaking at the ceremony, Siyapatha Finance PLC Managing Director Mr. Ananda Seneviratne remarked:

“It is a great privilege for us to gather in commemoration of a challenging yet deeply gratifying two-decade-long journey. It is only through the sheer hard work of all employees, past and present, and the unwavering trust placed in us by our loyal customers that we stand strong today. Let’s make it our ultimate goal to continue this service with all our stakeholders’ best interests at heart and embrace the future for many more years to come.”

In a moment of shared camaraderie, a commemorative signboard was handed round to be signed by all staff members at the ceremony and thereafter passed onto all islandwide branches as a token that captures a glimpse of years of effort and dedication into a single frame. The celebrations drew to a close with a twirl of excitement as Siyapatha-themed balloons, each containing a gift coupon, were released into the sky.

A journey that set forth from simple roots in 2005, Siyapatha Finance PLC flourished into becoming the largest subsidiary of its parent company, Sampath Bank PLC, in less than a decade. Over the years, the finance company has demonstrated persistence, credibility and integrity through many turbulent times – all for the purpose of empowering people to reach new horizons in life in spite  of the circumstances.

Today, Siyapatha Finance PLC boasts a network of 53 branches that ensures customers from all geological locations are provided with the best-in-service delivery standards. The company takes humble pride in its contribution to the development of small and medium entrepreneurial ventures  , as well as in fulfilling individual financial needs across the island.
