National Business Excellence Awards 2026 Successfully Launched, Marking 21 Years of Celebrating Sri Lankan Business Excellence

The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka successfully launched the 21st edition of the National Business Excellence Awards (NBEA) 2026 on Wednesday, 14 January 2026, at the National Chamber Auditorium, Colombo. The landmark event brought together distinguished invitees, past winners, and participants from across Sri Lanka’s business community, reaffirming the NBEA’s status as the nation’s premier platform for business excellence.

The launch ceremony underscored the NBEA’s continued evolution and relevance in recognizing organizations that demonstrate outstanding business practices, strong governance, and meaningful contributions to national economic progress. Since its establishment in 2004, the awards program has grown to become a trusted benchmark of excellence, inspiring businesses across all sectors to elevate their standards and embrace sustainable, purpose-driven practices.

The event featured addresses from key stakeholders emphasizing business excellence and national economic growth. Mr. Anura Warnakulasooriya, President of the National Chamber, welcomed participants, while Senior Professor Ajantha Dharmasiri, Co-Chairman of the Panel of Judges spoke on the evolving nature of business excellence and sustainable practices. Mr. Rajith Perera, Chairman of the Technical & Financial Evaluation Committee, outlined the rigorous evaluation framework ensuring the NBEA’s credibility as Sri Lanka’s premier business awards program. Mr. Kavinda Rajapaksha, Senior Deputy President of the National Chamber, delivered the vote of thanks.

This year’s competition welcomes participants from five business categories: Extra Large, Large, Medium, Small, and Micro, representing 29 diverse industry sectors. This inclusive approach ensures that businesses of all scales have equal opportunity to showcase their achievements and contribute to Sri Lanka’s economic narrative.

Following the successful launch, applications for the NBEA 2026 are now officially open. The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka encourages all business organizations across the country to seize this opportunity to participate in Sri Lanka’s most prestigious business awards program. Organizations interested in applying can obtain application forms, detailed guidelines, and registration information by contacting the National Chamber.

The winners will be honored at the Grand Awards Ceremony, scheduled to take place in July 2026, where the nation’s finest businesses will be celebrated for their contributions to excellence, innovation, and sustainable growth.
