Meet the High Commissioner of New Zealand, Bilateral session by National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka

The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka has scheduled a special Bilateral Trade & Investment Session with His Excellency David Gregory Pine, High Commissioner of New Zealand to Sri Lanka, on Tuesday, 18th March 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the National Chamber Auditorium, No. 450, D.R. Wijewardena Mawatha, Colombo 10.

This exclusive session offers an invaluable opportunity for the Sri Lankan business community to directly engage with His Excellency David Gregory Pine, who will share key insights into New Zealand’s trade environment, investment landscape, policies, and emerging opportunities for collaboration between the two nations.

Additionally, the discussion will explore potential growth sectors, including: Tourism & Hospitality, Education & Skill Development, Technology & Innovation, Creative Industries & Emerging Opportunities in Services & Innovation.

We are also honoured to have His Excellency Prasanna Gamage, Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner to New Zealand, join the session virtually to provide further perspectives on bilateral economic engagement.

Key Objectives of the Session: Strengthening Sri Lanka-New Zealand trade and investment ties; Gaining insights into New Zealand’s market dynamics and investment climate; Fostering business connections for mutual economic growth.

Sri Lanka’s Major Exports to New Zealand: Aluminum Products; Apparel & Textile Products (Clothing, accessories, and textile articles); Bedding & Furnishings (Mattresses, quilts, and supports); Edible Preparations (Excluding HS 2101); Rubber Products (Retreaded/used tyres, vulcanized rubber apparel, gloves); Sports & Fitness Equipment; Tea; Vegetable Textile Fibers & Paper Yarn Fabrics.

Sri Lanka’s Major Imports from New Zealand: Beverages & Confectionery (Spirits, vinegar, sugar, cocoa products); Chemicals & Miscellaneous Products; Dairy & Livestock (Milk, cream, birds); Medical & Optical Instruments; Wood & Paper Products (Wood, charcoal, paper pulp, recycled paper).
