INSEE Ecocycle is set to convene an important series of events during March, establishing Sri Lanka as the leader in circular economy and resource efficiency transformation and sustainable industrial development in Sri Lanka. These events represent a milestone in the country’s journey toward circular Economy adoption, sustainable manufacturing, and environmental stewardship.

On 19 March 2026, the Circularity Summit 2026 will take place at Cinnamon Life, Colombo, convening over 200 participants from industry, academia, regulatory authorities, and international institutions. The summit will serve as a platform for advancing knowledge, collaboration, and policy dialogue on resource efficiency and circular economy innovation.

Through multidisciplinary panels, the sessions will highlight key themes and insights including research, global sustainability solutions, and global best practices in energy, resource efficiency, and sustainable manufacturing. The summit will bring together decision-makers who can influence policy changes and drive implementation of circular economy principles across various sectors.

Participants will have the opportunity to engage in detailed discussions about waste reduction strategies, material recovery processes, and sustainable supply chain management. The event will also showcase successful case studies from other countries that have implemented circular economy models effectively.

Later that evening, the Future 360 – CEO Forum will gather more than 300 senior corporate leaders, policymakers, and international experts for high-level dialogue on the future of Sri Lanka’s industrial landscape. Designed as a CEO level forum, Future 360 will explore leadership visions for sustainable businesses, the role in circular economy adoption, and the integration of innovation into the sustainable industry.

The forum also highlights Sri Lanka’s potential to strengthen its position as an investment-ready, future-oriented manufacturing hub. Senior executives will discuss practical approaches to implementing sustainability measures within their organizations while maintaining profitability and competitiveness in global markets.

Complementing these flagship events, the International Conference on Resource Efficiency towards Sustainability (ICRES) was held online on 14 March 2026. At the conference, regional and global scholars shared insights on circular economy framework, regulatory developments and technological innovation. This academic component ensures that research findings and theoretical knowledge support practical implementation efforts.

The series initiated with the Circularity Challenge – Season 2, recognizing youth innovations in circular economy commercialization through a competition supported by workshops at leading universities, including Colombo, Peradeniya, and Sri Jayewardenepura. Circularity Challenge Winners will be awarded at the Future 360 CEO Forum, enabling young innovators to present their ideas to senior industry leaders, fostering an entrepreneurship culture, and strengthening Sri Lanka’s circular economy ecosystem. The competition focuses on practical solutions that can be implemented at a commercial scale, encouraging students to develop business models around sustainable practices. University workshops provide participants with mentorship and technical guidance to refine their proposals.

All these engagements by Ecocycle form a comprehensive platform connecting research, policy, industry practice, youth innovation, and executive leadership, positioning Sri Lanka as a regional leader in sustainable development. These programs also reiterates INSEE Ecocycle’s commitment to support Sri Lanka’s transition toward cleaner production systems, reduce industrial emissions, and promote a competitive, innovation-driven manufacturing sector.

This effort supports the country’s long-term environmental sustainability, circular economy goals, and economic priorities, creating a framework for sustained growth while protecting natural resources for future generations.
