A team representing Central Accounts at the Commercial Bank of Ceylon won the inaugural hackathon organised by the Bank in collaboration with Dialog Enterprise for employees of the Bank to develop and demonstrate their ingenuity and problem-solving prowess. Team Central Accounts presented a Tableau Dashboard on ‘Impairment Analysis’ while Team Planning and Team Central System Support Department were adjudged second and third for their proposals on ‘Advances & Deposits Analysis’ and ‘Cross-sell Ratio Analysis’ respectively.

Representatives of Commercial Bank’s corporate and senior management participated in the event and each of the 10 competing teams received guidance from a corporate management member. These mentors provided valuable insights, shared their experience and offered constructive feedback. Round 2 of the hackathon will run from September to December 2023 and will be presented with other pressing business problems that demand innovative data driven solutions, the Bank said.

Pictured here are the members of the winning teams receiving  cash prizes from the Bank’s Managing Director/CEO Mr Sanath Manatunge and Chief Operating Officer Mr S. Prabagar.
