CMA-CGM Lanka ranked no.1 in Logistics among LMD’s Most Respected Entities 2022

CMA CGM Lanka Pvt Ltd was ranked among the ‘Top 100 Most Respected Entities in 2022’ by the Lanka Monthly Digest (LMD) magazine, receiving top honours in the Logistics sector.

The Most Respected Entities are selected from an annual independent survey compiled and conceptualised by LMD, and commissioned by NielsenIQ. Over 800 respondents nominated the organisations they perceived as being the best based on the criteria of financial performance, quality consciousness, management profile, honesty, innovation, dynamism, corporate culture, CSR, vision and nation- mindedness.

“We are very pleased and humbled to be voted as the ‘Most Respected Entity’ under the Logistics category. We believe that our teams’ commitment, integrity, transparency and professionalism in delivering high-quality services despite global supply chain disruptions, are the reasons for our success and recognition in the eyes of our international and local partners” said Kingsley Abeywickrama, Director/General Manager of CMA CGM Lanka Pvt Ltd.

CMA CGM Lanka prides itself in being a reliable and reputable partner, with a competitive edge as evident by its strong financial and operational excellence. In a display of this excellence, in March 2022, the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (UK) Sri Lanka branch recognised CMA CGM Lanka with the award for ‘Best Shipping Agent in Customer Service in Colombo to the United States Export Sector’.

The culture within the organisation plays a vital role in placing CMA CGM Lanka as a preferred employer in Sri Lanka. Mutual trust and respect are highly valued within the Company, which have paved the way for a rich and open culture. Belonging to the container shipping industry,  where change is the norm, dynamism forms a big part of the Company’s workplace culture.

Since its inception, CMA CGM Lanka has been pivotal in delivering high-quality customer deliverables through technological innovations. Notably, the Company is firmly dedicated to achieving a ‘net zero carbon target for 2050’, a target set by the parent Company. Furthermore, CMA CGM has invested in innovative customer-friendly platforms such as ‘AQUA spoton’, ‘paperless BLs’ and many value added services.

Adding further, CMA CGM Lanka Director/General Manager Kingsley Abeywickrema stated, “Given the rapid pace of how the shipping industry is transforming, we ensure we stay ahead of the curve by finding innovative and alternative ways to improve the lives of everyone around us.” “The organisation nurtures a rich, trusted culture while instilling boldness, the pursuit of excellence, exemplary behaviour and imagination to excel in our services.”

CMA CGM Lanka Ltd is the joint venture company in Sri Lanka and the Maldives for France’s CMA CGM S.A. the third largest container carrier in the world.
