Great Place To Work® is set to host the Great Urban Challenge 2026 for the third consecutive year, reaffirming its commitment to fostering strong workplace cultures and meaningful connections among employees, families, and communities. Designed as an immersive, city-wide experience, the event brings together fun, physical activities, and strategic thinking to highlight the essential role of collaboration, communication, and resilience in today’s workplaces.

Taking place on 14th February 2026, from 7.00 a.m. to 1.30 p.m., the Great Urban Challenge will come alive across multiple locations in Colombo, turning the city into an action-packed arena of teamwork and problem-solving. Far more than a typical corporate outing, the event blends high-energy physical challenges with smart, strategy-led tasks—giving teams the perfect opportunity to step away from their desks, recharge, and reconnect. It further reflects Great Place To Work®’s core values of teamwork, inclusivity, and shared experiences, creating a platform where participants can thrive both personally and professionally.

This year’s event too will be delivered in partnership with Shehan Pilapitiya, Course Director/CEO of Outbound Adventures, specialists in outdoor and experiential activities, ensuring a seamless, safe, and expertly facilitated experience with thoughtfully designed challenges throughout the day. Created exclusively for corporate teams, the Great Urban Challenge offers a high-impact team-building platform that strengthens relationships and drives collaboration beyond roles and hierarchies—bringing the true spirit of teamwork to life in a fun, engaging setting.

“The Great Urban Challenge 2026 is a celebration of the spirit that makes workplaces great. By bringing teams out into the city to collaborate, compete, and connect, we’re reinforcing the values of trust, resilience, and unity that drive success in every organization. We believe that when employees are empowered to work together, both inside and outside the office, they unlock creativity, strengthen bonds, and build the foundation for truly extraordinary workplaces, ”stated Kshanika Ratnayaka,Director and CEO of Great Place To Work® Sri Lanka.

The Great Urban Challenge 2026 promises to be a standout experience for organizations looking to energise their teams, strengthen workplace relationships, and celebrate the power of collaboration beyond the office, where teams reconnect, recharge, and rediscover what it truly means to work together with purpose. As Great Place To Work® continues its mission to build great workplace cultures, the Great Urban Challenge 2026 stands as a powerful reminder that great workplaces are built not only through strategy—but through shared experiences, trust, and teamwork.
