Sri Lankan Rupee Falls Further Against US Dollar, Selling Rate Exceeds Rs. 354

The Sri Lankan Rupee has further depreciated against the US Dollar today (21), with the selling rate of the US Dollar surpassing the Rs. 354 mark.

Accordingly, the selling price of the US Dollar has been recorded at Rs. 354.03, while the buying price stands at Rs. 342.63.

This marks the lowest value recorded by the Sri Lankan Rupee against the US Dollar since March 02, 2023.

Yesterday (20), the selling price of a US Dollar was recorded at Rs. 342. Accordingly, the selling price of the Dollar has increased by nearly Rs. 12 within the past 24 hours.

The buying and selling rates of the US Dollar at several major commercial banks today (21) are as follows:

  • Bank of Ceylon – Rs. 345.00 / Rs. 354.00
  • People’s Bank – Rs. 344.44 / Rs. 354.74
  • Commercial Bank – Rs. 343.09 / Rs. 354.25
  • Sampath Bank – Rs. 344.50 / Rs. 353.50
  • Hatton National Bank – Rs. 346.00 / Rs. 345.50
